Community Open House

March 1 – 4, 2010

We are excited about our upcoming Community Open House.  This is a wonderful opportunity for Dayspring families, as well as other community members who are interested in our program, to visit our campus.  We invite you to visit your child’s classroom at your convenience throughout the week!  Some other activities to look forward to include:

· Monday, March 1, 2010-Family Appreciation BBQ. Dayspring students, parents, families, and friends are invited. We will eat at 6:00 PM and following the BBQ we will show the movie UP on the playground.

· Tuesday, March 2, 2010Community Tour @ 10:00 AM. Invite your neighbors, colleagues, friends and family for a guided tour of our campus. This is the perfect opportunity to obtain information about class sizes, curriculum, Montessori Philosophy, teacher qualifications, etc.

· Tuesday, March 2, 2010Transition Night, 6:30 PM. Staff members will be available in each environment to lead a discussion about the expectations of the environment. This evening is especially helpful for parents deciding whether to have their children return to Dayspring next year. Example: if your child is moving from ECC to Kindergarten, Kindergarten to 6-9 or 6-9 to 9-12, this is a great opportunity to see the new environment and ask specific questions about the expectations and curriculum.

· Wednesday, March 3, 2010Community Tour @ 10:00 AM. Invite your neighbors, colleagues, friends and family for a guided tour of our campus. This is the perfect opportunity to obtain information about class sizes, curriculum, Montessori Philosophy, teacher qualifications, etc.

· Thursday, March 4, 2010Community Night, 6:30 PM.

Adults: Join the Dayspring Administration along with some of our seasoned Montessori parents as we discuss Montessori philosophy and how our program is designed to meet the individual academic, emotional, spiritual, physical, and social needs of each student. Meet parents who have had children go through the program and who have successfully transitioned into other programs following their time here.

Toddlers: Toddle through our Toddler program. Children will work with our Montessori staff and experience a concrete relationship with some of the specially designed Montessori Materials.

3-6 Year Olds: Early Childhood aged children are invited to participate in hands-on Ooey Gooey Science experiments and will have a fun project to take home. (This Ooey Gooey class is similar to our Summer School Program classes.)

6-12 Year Olds: Study matter with our Elementary staff. Children will participate in several chemistry experiments and will leave with the supplies needed to show their new-found knowledge again and again!
